Helping PR pros make smarter decisions

Good Luck to Bryan Person

Good Luck to Bryan Person

I attended a farewell breakfast Tweetup for Bryan Person this morning, which was fitting, as Bryan is the pioneer of the Social Media Breakfast. Bryan is leaving Boston for a new job in Texas, and while we’ll certainly miss him at all the Boston-area events we attend, we at CustomScoop are thrilled for him and wish him luck!

CustomScoop had the honor of sponsoring the very first social media breakfast, almost a year ago in Boston at the Pour House. That breakfast was a casual meet-up that ended in great conversations, networking, and a newfound interest in connecting with others in person (new at the time, I was still quite the newbie back then!). The event solidified for me just how important it is in social media to get out from behind the computer screen.

The breakfasts have come a long way since then, attracting top sponsors and compelling presenters, and offering opportunities not only to network, but to learn. Not to mention what they’ve done for Bryan’s personal brand; his role in organizing them contributed to his new gig at Live World.

The breakfasts will continue in Bryan’s absence (I’ve offered to help out in any way I can, along with Bob Collins of SHIFT), but we will definitely miss him and hope he can get back for one soon.

Good luck, Bryper!

    Sarah:
So nice to see you at yesterday’s Tweetup. Thanks for making the drive down from New Hampshire.
Yesterday’s event really did take me back to that first Social Media Breakfast just about a year ago: A bunch of people who are passionate about social media getting together to get to know each other better.
Though I’ll be based in Austin, Texas as of next week, I plan to make occasional trips back for Boston SMBs. I hope to see you at one of them this fall.
