Since it made landfall last Friday, Hurricane Harvey has devastated regions of Texas. As the storm developed, social media has played an important role in providing aid to victims of the disastrous storm. Social media outlets have delivered news to those affected and given them a line of communication to share information about their own situation.

With this event in mind, CARMA’s North American CEO Chip Griffin considers how social media can help in times of crisis and how communicators should be aware of this.
