Twitter Works to Restore Lost Followers

by Media Bullseye Staff on July 24, 2008

Twitter, arguably the most popular of the various microblogging social networks, experienced a major outage this week as users began complaining of lost followers. According to the site’s status blog, it seems the issue arose during an attempt to clean up spam Twitter accounts.

The beleaguered site notes that they are working on the issue, and have restored many of the lost followers, and continue to do so. According to the status blog, “We’re still in the process of recovering from the missing follower/following problem that occurred earlier today. Over the next several hours, you may see inaccurate counts or timeline inconsistencies as the correct data is propagated to all parts of the system.”
