MySpace Launches Ad Network

by Media Bullseye Staff on October 13, 2008

MySpace has become the latest big player to launch a new advertising network. The service, dubbed MyAds, has launched in public beta and is designed for both consumers and small businesses. MyAds will allow users to target MySpace members based on any number of demographic profile data.

Observers are drawing comparisons to Google’s AdWords. Unlike AdWords, MyAds will facilitate the creation of image-based banner ads. While some believe that Google’s targeting technology is superior, most acknowledge that the MyAds is a smart step toward monetizing MySpace.

Another Social network using to much of our info to give us “targeted ads”, no wonder companies such as Phorm are managing to be accepted by some!
