A Pittsburgh couple, offended by Google’s use of images of their home in it’s street-level view in Google Maps, is suing the search giant for $25,000 in damages. The couple claims that the images of their home were taken illegally, as their street is marked “private property.”
The case may not make it very far, however, as Google already provides a function for users to request that any images of their home be taken off the Google maps website. Further weakening the couple’s argument is the news that their home and personal details are already available online at a realtor website.
An attorney for the couple argues that their property has gone down in value as a result of the Google images.
