Variants of a powerful virus are continuing to surface on the popular social network Facebook. The virus is spread via spam messages purporting to be a video from a friend. While Facebook claims that it has taken steps to limit attacks to “less than .002 percent” of members, BetaNews suggests that the social network is not doing enough.
Caroline McCarthy has noted a similar problem over at CNET. While pointing out that spam messages are being actively removed by Facebook employees, she tells readers that “Of course, an hour or two is still a big enough frame of time for people to click on the link and get their computers loaded with some nasty new malware.”
